That's some crazy merchandising for the movie. The reviews I've heard from friends who have seen it were varying. From really good to "I wish I saw Inception or The Expendables". Was planning this huge merchandising plan really a good idea before seeing how the movie would perform? It was released in the summer. Probably THE biggest times for movie releases. I think it would have gained more mileage as a Thanksgiving or Christmas release, which it won't get drowned out in all the other movies coming out.

The anonymous post about saying the progressives like transparency is another example of a baseless response. There are plenty of examples where progressives were far from transparent. One main example would be the Obamacare development where the progressive administration refused to allow conservatives in their closed door meetings. It doesn't matter what your position is about Obamacare, but the process certainly wasn't transparent and open.

I think marion has it exactly right. It frankly doesn't matter how much openness you like, there are always groups who may or may not be political who make a concerted effort to taint certain news or information related content popularity. I remember that wikipedia banned some guy because he was deleting and editing climate change related content on that site that opposed his view.

All media is biased to some degree regardless of political affiliation. It would be wise to always remember that fact. And whenever a site can be manipulated by the public, it is going to happen.

Organic sewage sludge compost is a scientific myth used to dump sludge on the public. Sludge Compost is claimed to be a Class A biosolids with less than 1,000 colonies (millions of bacteria per colony) of thermotolerant Enterobacteriaceae per gram of dry sludge that grow at 112.1degF based on a fecal coliform test for E. coli and Klebsiella. It is claimed that is proof that there are no pathogens present which makes it safe for direct public contact. The outright lie is that the colonies are reported to the public as individual bacteria (colony forming Unit or most probable number), unless the public is told all pathogens are destroyed. The problem is that San Francisco ignores all 30 gram negative pathogens in the Enterobacteriaceae family that enjoy explosive growth at 98.6degF as well as all other pathogens in the bacteria group and viruses, helminths an protozoa. http://thewatchers.us/1/scientific-myths.html We don't want to forget the 1981 Los Angeles' compost study "Factors Affecting Salmonellae Repopulation in Composted Sludges" "The indigenous salmonellae initiating this growth had survived in a desiccated state for over 1 year prior to providing the proper moisture-temperature combination for the repopulation to occur." http://thewatchers.us/EPA/2/1981-salmonella-regrowth-compost.pdf The 1988 Los Angeles' study "Occurrence of Pathogens in Distribution and Marketing Municipal Sludges" was more significant. "Although the use of sludge as a soil amendment is attractive, it is not without potential health risks. Toxic chemicals, including heavy metals and industrial organics, may enter the food chain and present long-term health risks." The bacteria Yersinia (pestis -plague?) was consistently found in static pile compost. CDC authorities state, "Outbreaks in people still occur in rural communities or in cities." significant increases in bacterial populations, including salmonellae, occurred during subsequent production of commercial soil amendment products. http://deadlydeceit.com/D_M_sludge.html Jim Bynum

now that's the stuff! offering free space to allow any sort of irresponsible babble to to go unchallenged by the truth is a disservice to the both the USA Today's readers and the USA Today's (Constitutionally protected) purpose. It is not journalism, it is a media- sanctioned gossip foodfight. This is what sells papers, but it is not journalism and it helps legitimize the public's mistrust of media just when we need it most.
