This is ridiculous. If these people spent half as much money trying to fix this problem as they are spending on their PR and their other attempts at trying to cover up the spill, I'm guessing they would have already solved the problem. I truly hope this isn't true.

As long as there is a public (affordable) option paid colleges are fine. I wasn't aware of the huge amount of federal/state money poured into this business. This should be limited. Also, it's everybody's own decision to get into debt for education. I'd even say, it's the best reason take out a loan, definitely better than for a new SUV.

BP has gotten away with it time and time again. Blair, no one has been punished for lying about Iraq.

I too am enraged at politicians, and I would like to throw them all out. But, like most people, MY reps seem to do pretty good. So I voted for the incumbent. That is a common feeling amongst most of us: ie, It is the Other Guy who is the problem. So, yes, the story is right: We DO believe they should all be tossed out. But I will keep mine if you don't mind.

I mean...is anyone really surprised by this? I realize these are two catastrophes of completely different ilk, but doesn't this remind you of the post-9/11 turmoil where all this information came out that the government heard rumblings of an attack and failed to act on it? It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous. Aren't we supposed to learn from our mistakes?
