I used to think that big corporation had conservative values because conservative values include free enterprise as a major issue. I've come to discover that big corporation have no values other than making money. Here we have one of the most liberal administrations in history and the big corporations are just as much in bed with them as the previous administration. Follow the money. Kevin Landau

My dad also had hard time quitting... he died young, at the age of 52 he already passed away, that's why I didn't try smoking, but I've been a 2nd hand smoker before because of him. I hope the government can do something more about this issue. This is very informative... thanks. I hope you post more to make more people aware of this issue.

The Fair Tax group also performed a virtual march on Washington to try to rally up the cause. It was interesting but seems they are lacking funds to keep going. I wonder how the march is being funded and if it will last. I'm sure it takes a lot of money to keep someone to organize it and advertise to try to attract new members.

It's the age-old conflict between immediate self-ineterest and long-term common good. Times like the Gulf Coast crisis present an opportunity to re-evaluate positions. What good is a million bucks of oil profits in the bank if their own children and grandchildren won't have a planet to enjoy. Or has the self-interest gotten so narrow that they don't care about the future of their own offspring? There is profit to be made in alternative technologies. Oil is going the way of the dinosaur. It has served its purpose up to a point but it's time to move on.

BP is no doubt responsible for the oil mess. However I don't understand why the president of BP doesn't deserve a day off and our own Obama has many days off when he should be tending to the business of running this country. And not into the ground either.
