Thom responded that we "all have to die of something". Unfortunately, those who die from smoking - about 1/2 of all those who smoke chronically - will die of a disease related to their smoking. And they will die, on average, 14 years earlier than those who do not smoke. Not to mention costing all of us billions of dollars to treat their tobacco-related illnesses. (Overall, smoking related illness costs the U.S. slightly less than $100 B for health care.) And for every person who dies of a tobacco-related illness, twenty will be hospitalized with a smoking-related illness. So, yeah, Thom - go smoke your cigarettes - but could you NOT use tax or insurance dollars to treat your smoking-related illnesses so the rest of us don't have to pick up part of the tab?
whats free about obama-care ,who will pay for it ? you strike me as an educated man that would remodel a house without knowing how much it costs. I guess you would let the contractor do whatever he wants ....no no you dont need to know the plans ...we will just do it and then you will find out what it looks like . or as the speaker of the house says " we need to pass it then we can see whats in it "?? refering to health care of course. Lets also throw in a government run student loan program ...what did that have to do with health care ? really ??
I think this is a great idea. I know there are a few companies out there but we need to create a non-profit to compete with the health insurance giants.
The news about NATO admitting a role in the deaths of two pregnant woman in a botched Special Operations raid February 12, has led me to ask for assistance for these poor women's children and families!
As a current pregnant woman, the admission of this travesty has brought anger, confusion, etc. but what I want to DO most of all is to try and get as many pregnant mothers, expecting couples, ANYBODY together to collect sympathy cards to these poor children and families!
Please, Americans, let's show these victims and their families that we care and are NOT like the perpetrators of these crimes, but that we have compassion and do CARE for their loved ones at this dark time!
