When will society start to realize that we’re only temporary residents on this planet? We need to be less self indulgent and more concerned about leaving this place better than when we got here.
I too find this ridiculous. I used to smoke and decided to stop because I realized I am killing myself slowly. Cigarettes (and alcohol) are the only legal addictive drugs that can cause death. I see no reason why treating effects of using these substances should be paid for. If the government is genuinly worried about the health hazard, they should make it illegal!
I like hearing reports from real-life people, and not the typical media outlets. I just hope for the best of luck.
And of course, hurricane season is on our way. I know it could get worse if it hits the gulf and further pushes the oil to land-and further affecting small businesses and families.
