And yet the rest of that email is about putting out a response extolling the purported safety of the sludge, without the word "stringent" . . . . which is not quite the same as just saying no. it's more like saying let's move forward with our defend the sludge PR plan without using that word....
While the conflict of interest is deplorable, just to be fair to Vietor about claim #2, John, regarding which you state that a search produced nothing, you do quote her earlier as writing, " I am learning that fed guidelines do not regulate a lot of toxins and so may not be as stringent as we may want." That statement does seem to show some concern about toxicity.
I got a pair of the Sketchers last October and I love them. I wear them when I go for a walk or use the treadmill. It has helped me with my balance. Since getting these shoes I have lost just over 10 lbs. This is without changing anything else that I normally do. So I think the shoes have helped me overall.
They did take a little getting used to
Great article John! If this tale wasn't so funny, the story you lay out for us would be really sad. As a community organizer and outspoken critic and strong opponent of the poisoning our land and waters with the toxic material also known as "biosolids", (the polite term) I thank you for exposing those who who promote the poisoning of our food, land and water for those who want to avoid the costs of landfilling sewage sludge. I still believe it's a sin to urinate or defecate in water. I have owned a composting toilet for 8 years now! THank you for your tireless work exposing those forces who would compromise our health. Shame on you, Alice Waters on your part in not condemning this Greenwashing of toxic sludge. I've lost respect I once had for you.
Don't we have a right to know what's going on? this really makes me mad.
