That's a really good point. Very well observed. The governments are always trying to blame everything on us, but really important things such as this is never considered. Thanks a lot :-) - Ray

It's much more than inconvenient. The reality is that most of these despicable, amoral, highly lucrative arrangements that provide plausible deniability to many government agencies are not actually illegal. The system is designed to protect them. Look at Blackwater. We've sub contracted out our intelligence, special/black ops operations. And at the taxpayers' expense. It's a great scam and has been going on for years with no oversight from our elected representatives.
And most Americans just don't care. They will. When they wake up.
I think It's beyond fixing at this point anyway.

"Greece did a billion-dollar currency swap with Goldman Sachs in 2002 that did not show up on the nation's books as debt." What a surprise, G.S crashed and burned, then Greece tumbles. I wonder what other country's dirty washing will be revealed in the next few months.

Imagine that graph if you could include the value of the commerical paper & money market guarantees, along with the increase in the FDIC limit.

But then, is the Deseret News a real newspaper? Or a PR organ for the LDS faith? If the latter, they may as well sack all the staff reporters and have it run from the PR unit of the LDS church. They could have free foreign news provided by the PR people for the LDS Church who work all over the world.

As a UK-based journalist, I don't think the LDS Church and Deseret News have been very honest in how they dealt with this. Don't Mormons believe in all their dealings? At least, that's what I thought...
