CMD Welcomes More New Law Fellows

The Center for Media and Democracy is pleased to welcome its three newest additions to our team this summer, Ross Wolfarth, Max Abbott, and Sue Izevbigie. These new law fellows all hail from Columbia Law School, one of the very best law schools in the country, and one which has a terrific program to support public interest careers by sponsoring placements in public interest groups like CMD. Please join us in welcoming our newest legal/policy researchers and spin-fighters!

Ross graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College with a Bachelor of Arts in History. His studies focused on the intersections of religion, colonialism, and environmental history, and he also worked for the Environmental Law Institute, investigating the role of natural resource policy in rebuilding post-conflict states. Ross is from Arlington, Virginia, and will focus on BP-related legal and policy issues and other matters for CMD.

Max graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in political science from George Washington University. He has worked for the U.S. Justice Department and at the Apollo Alliance. He also did a stint at Fleishman-Hillard and, additionally, taught in Senegal for a time. Max is from Cleveland, Ohio, and he will address Citizens United-related issues as well BP and a host of other issues this summer for CMD.

Sue Osasumwen earned her Bachelor's degree in philosophy from Lafeyette College, where she excelled in both her studies and as a member of the varsity track team. She was the President of W.O.R.D.S. and volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club. Sue is from Prince Georges County, Maryland, and she is planning to research an array of legal and policy issues for CMD, including intellectual property matters, non-profit regulations, educational policies, the Supreme Court, and other hot topics in the law.
