Sheldon: They always say in Britain that no government would be dumb enough to raise the tax on a pint of beer. So long as you give everyone their pint, the government will stay in power. Maybe that is true, but iTunes are certainly no pint of beer. And you are correct to say that very few people will switch political parties over an iTunes tax. But I wonder if you are not being somewhat unfairly critical of Mr. Ruffini? After all, his expertise is in the organizing/campaigning. He is not supposed to be the policy thinker or visionary. In any case, those who do take on that role for Republicans are doing very little to grapple with the issues your entry identifies! Nothing new here. A Republican, after all, is someone who proposes solutions for problems that do not exist. Two wrongs do not make a right, but two wrongs define The Right. Which is why I would advise you to give up encouraging the Republicans to become a responsible and vibrant opposition party. The Greens can do a fine job of keeping the Democrats honest. - Michael Shea

As scary as the thought of Big Google collecting records of your every online movement is, the thought of Big Brother-Big Business silencing net neutrality and controlling your online behavior should be even scarier. Any attempt to dismantle Google and its fight for net neutrality is an attack against the Constitution of the united States and should be treated as treason.

I beg to differ with the potty-minded first poster; Blackwater employees do not sign up with that MERCENARY OUTFIT because they believe in a) noble causes, or b) to perform humanitarian gestures, or c) their love of country; rather, they happily sign their "John Hancock" on a contract form to murder people.for profit. Regardless of the name change,
Blackwater cannot hide what it represents: a nefarious Guns-For-Hire outfit!

While the actions of Balckwater may be questionable, I can see the arguement regarding, "Walk a mile in their shoes first before passing judgement". Blackwater maybe the name everyone knows but dig a little deeper, and the Bush Admin cronies are to be found. When is America going to wake up and have Bush & HIS thugs impeached for crimes against humanity. The obscene profits that the companies controlled by these parasites collected by invading Iraq should be put on the table for all to see.
